Host Family Opportunities:
The Jackson Prep International Program or a third-party agent will compile a list of host families. These host families are chosen only after background checks, reference checks, and personal interviews are completed and reviewed. Orientation and ongoing support are provided to students and host families throughout the year. International students attending Jackson Prep should be comfortable living in this host family arrangement and will enjoy enhanced cultural integration, accelerated English learning, and personalized care.
Jackson Prep host families provide students with room and board, meals, and transportation in exchange for a monthly housing supplement paid directly to the host family through a contractual agreement between the student’s family and the host family. Host families also serve as a direct point of communication with the immediate family, providing steady feedback regarding the student’s academic progress and well-being and also informing the parents of any issues that may arise.
The family of origin is responsible for tuition, uniforms, miscellaneous charges, trip expenses, and other expenses, such as haircuts, medical insurance, copays, going out to movies with friends, and discretionary spending, etc. The origin family must also provide a cell phone for communication with parents, establish a banking account, and pay for any incurred fees.
Family Relocation or Alternative Hosting Option:
If the student desires to live with his/her own family members who may be looking to relocate, Jackson Prep will provide a list of realtors to assist with housing accommodations. The family also has the option to secure its own host or living arrangements.
